Get started with Modelway
One API key for every model in Modelway’s catalog. Point your tool at Modelway, paste the key and pick a model.
Get access
Sign in with Google to create your account. You can create API keys right away, but requests with them are refused until your account has API access, which an admin gives it.
Create your API key
Open API keys in the dashboard and click Create key. It’s shown once, so copy it right away. You can have up to five, one per tool or machine, and turn each off or delete it on its own.
Heads up. Treat the key like a password.

FAQ
My key doesn’t work (401).
Check that you copied the whole key, and that it is still enabled on the API keys page.
I get “model not found” (404).
Copy the id from the model list.
I get 402.
If it says your account doesn’t have API access yet, contact an admin to get it. If it mentions your monthly budget, you’ve used this month’s credits: they reset on the 1st (UTC), and an admin can raise them. Otherwise Modelway is out of capacity: retry later.
I get 429.
Too many of your requests are running at once, or Modelway is busy. Clients retry on their own. If it keeps happening, contact an admin.
My key leaked.
Delete it from API keys right away; it stops working at once. Then create a new one.
