Claude Desktop
Set up the Claude Desktop app to use Modelway.
Get your Modelway key
Sign in, open API keys and click Create key. Copy it right away: it’s shown once. New to Modelway? Start with getting access.
Install Claude Desktop
Download it from claude.ai/download and install it. If you already have it, make sure it’s up to date.
Turn on Developer Mode
Open Help → Troubleshooting → Enable Developer Mode. The app restarts with a new Developer menu.
Point it at Modelway
Open Developer → Configure Third-Party Inference. Set the gateway base URL to:
And the rest of the connection like this:

Save the changes.
Pick a model
The model picker fills with the Claude models in Modelway’s catalog. Pick one and start a chat.
FAQ
The app says the gateway was unreachable.
It couldn’t reach the base URL when it started. Check that it’s exactly https://modelway.vip, without /v1.
Why don’t I see GPT or other models?
Claude Desktop only lists Claude models. Use another tool for the rest of the catalog.
